Capcom Releases Free Minigame for Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom surprised fans today with a shadow drop. The company launched a new free minigame called Leon Must Die Forever for Resident Evil Requiem. Players can now download the update on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2.
The minigame unlocks automatically after players finish the main story. In this arcade-style mode, gamers take control of Leon S. Kennedy. They clear multiple stages while using randomized enhancer abilities. Moreover, the timed challenges push players to beat the clock.
Exciting New Features
Leon Must Die Forever offers five difficulty ranks. These range from standard levels to an extreme high-difficulty mode. Players race against time and face stronger enemy variants from the main game. They also battle a final boss at the end of each run.
Furthermore, the mode changes Leon’s enhancer abilities in every playthrough. It also alters the order of areas, which adds strong replay value. In addition, players can unlock new costumes for Leon as they progress.
Capcom released an action-packed trailer for the mode. The video shows Leon fighting hordes of infected enemies at high speed. The minigame uses several locations from the main campaign.
Additional Improvements
Along with the minigame, the latest title update brings several bug fixes across all platforms. On PC, Capcom added full support for the DualSense controller. Players now enjoy adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion sensors.
Strong Sales and Future Plans
Resident Evil Requiem continues to perform well. The game has sold over 7 million copies since its release on February 27. Critics also praise it as one of the highest-rated titles of 2025.
Capcom had teased this minigame back in March. At the same time, the developer confirmed that a larger story expansion is still in development.
Fans of the series now have fresh content to enjoy. The free update makes Resident Evil Requiem even more attractive for both new and returning players.
