Xiaomi Launches Redmi 17 5G in India With 7,900mAh Battery
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 17 5G in India. The phone pairs a 7,900mAh battery with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. It also uses a 120Hz display. The starting price is Rs 23,999. Xiaomi is aiming the handset at buyers who want long battery life for daily use and entertainment.
The phone includes a 50MP AI dual rear camera. Wired charging is rated at 45W. Software is Xiaomi HyperOS 3. Sales begin on 10 September 2026. Buyers can use Xiaomi’s online store and retail channels.
The 6GB + 128GB model costs Rs 23,999. The 8GB + 128GB model costs Rs 26,999. Listed MRPs are Rs 39,999 and Rs 41,999. Colour options are Absolute Black, Endless Blue, and Eternal Orange. The back uses a vegan leather finish. Sales will run on mi.com, Amazon India, and Xiaomi stores from 10 September.
The 7,900mAh battery supports 45W fast charging. Wired reverse charging is also listed. The screen measures 6.9 inches and runs at 120Hz. High brightness mode reaches up to 825 nits.
TÜV Rheinland certifications cover Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly viewing. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the panel. Dual stereo speakers are included.
Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 powers the phone. Peak clock speed is up to 2.4GHz. The device supports 5G. The 50MP AI dual rear camera offers Night, Portrait, HDR, and Document modes. An 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. A soft-light ring sits with the front camera.
The phone carries an IP64 rating. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is included. AI face unlock is also available. Storage can expand by microSD up to 2TB. Xiaomi has kept a 3.5mm headphone jack.
