New Trailer Reveals Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Gameplay Ahead of 2027 Launch
Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Game Studios have released a new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. The one-minute clip shows combat sequences, exploration moments, and cinematic shots of Lara Croft. Moreover, it highlights classic locations and set pieces from the 1996 original game.
The trailer debuted over the weekend during Tomb Raider’s 30th anniversary events in Derby, England, and at MCM Comic Con in London. Lara performs familiar acrobatic moves, including cartwheels and flips, while engaging enemies. In addition, the game slows time into bullet-time during these special actions. Therefore, the footage gives fans a clearer look at how the remake plays.
Release Date and Platform Details
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch on February 12, 2027, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch 2. However, the team had originally targeted a 2026 release. Crystal Dynamics confirmed the delay earlier in June. The game is a full Unreal Engine 5 remake of the 1996 Tomb Raider. It includes updated visuals and revised gameplay systems. Amazon and Crystal Dynamics announced the project alongside the next mainline title, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, at The Game Awards 2025.
Catalyst Also Faces Delay
Tomb Raider: Catalyst has moved from its initial 2027 window to 2028. Amazon Game Studios boss Jeffrey Gattis stated in a July interview that Legacy of Atlantis would arrive in 2027, followed by Catalyst the next year. However, Catalyst still lacks a confirmed release date. Both titles are under development at Crystal Dynamics. Flying Wild Hog serves as co-developer on Legacy of Atlantis.
These updates keep the Tomb Raider series in focus as its 30th anniversary celebrations continue. Therefore, players can expect more details as the 2027 launch approaches.
