Control Your Site’s Visibility in Google AI Search

Google’s new tools allow website owners to control AI search feature appearances without affecting rankings.

Google Gives Website Owners More Control Over AI Search Features

Google has launched new tools for website owners. These tools help them manage how their sites appear in AI-powered search results.

On Wednesday, the company announced the update. Website publishers can now choose whether their content shows up in Google’s AI Overviews, AI Mode in Search, and AI Overviews in Discovery.

Additionally, Google added these controls directly in Search Console. Publishers simply toggle their preferences there.

However, opting out comes with a clear result. Websites that block AI features will not receive traffic or impressions from them.

Moreover, Google made an important promise. This new control will not affect regular search rankings. Therefore, websites will still appear normally in traditional search results.

At the same time, Google is rolling out fresh insights in Search Console. These insights show useful data to website operators. For example, they reveal impressions, which pages appear in AI responses, and the countries where users see them.

Furthermore, Google plans to add more metrics over time.

Currently, the company is testing these features with a small group of website owners in the UK. It will expand the tools to more users globally in the coming months.

This move gives publishers greater say over their content in the growing AI search world. Many website owners welcome the extra control.
